Club La Santa has released the names of the winners of the different competitions organized for spectators at the inaugural edition of the IRONMAN 70.3 LANZAROTE last 10th of November.

We have released the racenumbers for the inaugural IRONMAN 70.3 LANZAROTE to be celebrated next 10th of November.

Competitions and Raffle organized by Club La Santa
For the new IRONMAN 70.3 LANZAROTE, taking place in La Santa, Tinajo, Lanzarote on the 10th of November 2012, Club La Santa launches a series of competitions and a raffle. The purpose is to promote the event and the beautiful island of Lanzarote, as well as to involve everyone in the event, sports enthusiasts and spectators alike.

Luc Van Lierde came back from his ride, sharing his Polar Pro Trainer Curve, as well as few comments:
“Interesting info maybe is that the bike I used was not a time-trial bike but just a classic bike… the wind was blowing at 4 beaufort (equates to around 25kph), we rode at approximately 29 to 30 km/hour…

Last weekend, along with 1552 triathletes, Jon took the start of 21st edition of our race. He is one of the 1436 finishers, and he shares his race experience. “It’s one of the most iconic Ironman races in the world I would highly recommend it.”

Since I first set foot on the island of Lanzarote in 2009 and visited the Teguise market, I realized that a special energy filled the environment. I thoughtthat all this was a result of the volcanic terrain and its magnificent contrasts of lush green on black soil from former eruptions or the peculiar form of official housing construction on the island in white and blue. It was only when I ran into several little groups of cyclists that I realized where this inner strength came from. For 364 days of the year, the island is home to a latent emotion that explodes today, to be heard world wide. Come and watch and be welcomed to Ironman Lanzarote 2012.

Saturday, 12 May 2012: Manx Tri Team Raising Funds for Cystic Fibrosis
This Saturday morning, at the Ironman Lanzarote headquarters, we met Olivia McNeill’s Grandmother, Barbara, a lady full of energy and love, who has come once again to Club La Santa, but this time for a special purpose: support the Manx Triathlon Team who will be doing the Ironman Lanzarote 2012, intending to raise funds for Cystic Fibrosis Research.(For those who don’t know, Manx = from the Isle of Man)
Barbara McNeill came to tell us the story behind this, and to ensure that we include the flag of the Isle of Man at the Parade of Nations next Thursday evening to call more attention to this cause!
